Stephen
A. Guerrera was born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1962. Following
High School, Steve enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft
Mechanic. He served during Grenada, Libya, Panama and Desert Storm,
and is very proud of his enlistment to his country. Twice, Honorably
Discharged. During his enlistment Steve became an amateur bodybuilder
while studying nutrition, anatomy and exercise physiology.
Upon returning to civilian-ship, Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford,
Connecticut offered him a position as a Helicopter Mechanic. Steve
was married in 1988 and soon added twin boys to their family. In
1992 he recieved his Certification in Personal Training and Fitness
Counseling through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.
In 1995 Steve and his wife began to talk about raising their children
further south. The long New England winters and northern stress
factors had taken their toll.
In 1997 North Carolina became the place of choice. An Airport in
Greensboro became Steve's place of employment. After a short time
Steve knew that it was time for a career change. With all the years
of studying nutrition, anatomy, physiology, health, fitness and
bodybuilding, he knew it would have to be something involving the
human body.
While personal training was semi consistent, he needed something more financially sound. Chiropractic or Physical Therapist College were a thought but Massage Therapy College however could be done while still employed at the airport. 6 months prior to graduating Steve left the airport for an opportunity to manage at a local Health Food Store and Herb Shop, study, and practice massage. Following graduation in 2001 he was asked to come back and teach the nutrition and wellness portion of the program. The very next year he was asked to come back again and teach the anatomy & physiology portion of the program. In the years that followed, Steve became a Certified Orthopedic Massage Therapist through the Orthopedic Massage and Education Research Institute (OMERI) and is now studying for his certification in Neuromuscular Therapy. Steve is also a Certified Natural Health Practitioner through The National Association of Certified Natural Health Professionals, Inc. (a not-for-profit corporation) that was founded in 1988 for the purpose of training and certifying individuals who sought to counsel others in natural health techniques.
During 2002 and 2003 Steve had the pleasure of working with a Neuromuscular
Therapy clinic where he learned even more. Another bonus came from
being able to work with different athletes from the University at
Wake Forest campus. Unfortunately with all the years of physical
training and now the added strain of massage therapy, Steve's body
finally gave out and he susstained a shoulder injury. (read the

In 2004, Steve's wife made the suggestion that a move to the beach
might be nice. In amazement he agreed. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
became their new home. Steve is now a licensed therapist in SC and
works out of a local Chiropractic and Clinical Associates office
in Surfside Beach. Once established, Steve began his Personal Training
& Fitness Counseling career again working with several local
gyms throughout Conway, Murrell's Inlet, Garden City and Myrtle
Beach. He was very surprised to find just how many athletes trained
in this area. He has even had the pleasure of working on, and with,
two Olympic hopefuls. Steve is happiest and at his very best when
helping, training and teaching others.
