Cannot
run or even walk because of pain in the hips, knees, or feet. Your
low back hurts whether sitting, standing or lying down. It makes
you hate your job. It disrupts life. You spend days at a computer
worrying about the pain in your neck, shoulders, arms, wrists or
hands. Shoulder pain wakes you up at night. A sudden move brings
a jolt of pain that feels like an electric shock.
Know anybody like this? They're on every job, in every office and
in every home. The thing they all have in common other than pain,
is the fact they are not getting the help they need. They have seen
doctors, had tests, done therapy, took medication and filled out
insurance forms until blue in the face. Their told that surgery
may be the next and/or only option.
Research
shows that most of our aches and pains are caused by Trigger Points
roughly 75% of the time. They are known to cause a wide variety
of problems and pains. Even causing depression if the pain has been
long-term or disabling. Unfortunately, a high percentage of doctors
and other health-care practitioners are still somewhat in the dark
regarding trigger points, despite their having been written about
in medical journals for over 60 yrs.
Worse
than routinely treating the site of pain, is the pharmaceutical
company's increasingly expensive treatment of the whole body for
what is usually a local problem. This process gives us the illusion
that something good is happening, when in reality it's only masking
the problem. Most pain is a simple warning, a protective response.
Pain is simply telling you that something is wrong, STOP! Conventional
treatments for pain so often fail because they focus on treating
the site of pain, and overlooking the cause which may be some distance
away. It's this referred pain that has always thrown most doctors
and other practitioners off.
Referred
pain is now known to occur in predictable patterns. Once you know
where to look, trigger points are easily located and deactivated
by any of several methods or techniques. Most problems can be eliminated
within weeks. Chronic conditions or an injury may take longer. But
even they can achieve progress and have genuine hope of significant
improvement in their condition.
